Exploring the Intersection of Race, Trauma, and Education in the Closure of Public Schools in Puerto Rico: A Visual Narrative of Memories and Testimonios from Communities in Loíza.

This visual presentation foregrounds preliminary analysis and insights from a research study I conducted in Puerto Rico with my collaborators Elizabeth Taveras Rivera, Belinda Arana and graduate student Lilliana Romero. It is a collage of data, participants’ voices, and images. We have interwoven in the presentation our own personal responses as a team made up of four Puerto Ricans for whom this study brought together personal meanings and social justice commitments.
