  • The gallery calendar for this year is closed. The exhibition schedule for every academic year is set the summer before. We are now accepting proposals for the next academic year.ext goes here

  • Complete a proposal form. (Verbal requests will not be considered)

  • No. Due to the limited space available each year, the selection process is very competitive. Factors that influence the selection include: availability of space vis-a-vis the number of proposals, quality of the proposal, our commitment to balancing exhibitions with diverse foci, and representation of the artist/organizer in previous gallery exhibitions, among others. 

  • Those who have submitted a proposal will be notified of exhibition decisions no later than August. 

  • The Macy Art Gallery functions exclusively as an academic and exhibition space and does not represent any artists or artworks featured, nor does it accept or relay offers to purchase works. 

  • The Macy Art Gallery is not available to host events beyond the TC community. Only in very rare circumstances does the Macy Art Gallery accept requests to host events within the TC community. Such requests should be sent to the Art and Art Education Program Office via email at artofc@tc.columbia.edu. 

  • If you completed a submission form for this exhibition, please review all of the information contained within that form pertaining to delivering your artwork. If it is an individual show, please review your acceptance email and agreement form. You will also find the correct contact person listed there in the event that you need additional support or accommodations to deliver your work. If your work is not delivered by the due date, it may not be included in the exhibition.

  • All 2D artwork intended to be wall-mounted should be 1. clearly labeled with the title and correct orientation indicated and 2. mounted on a board, on a secure stretcher bar frame that is not warped, or framed and outfitted with wire for display. 

    All videos must be JPEG/PNG/PDF/MOV file types, clearly labeled with title and artist name, and ready to play. 

    All 3D and sculptural works should be 1. Clearly labeled with the title and correct orientation indicated and 2. stable enough to be handled without concern for breaking, otherwise please make arrangements to be onsite to assist with installation and deinstallation of the work.

  • If you completed a submission form for this exhibition, please review all of the information contained within that form pertaining to collecting your artwork. If it is an individual show, please review your acceptance email and agreement form. You will also find the correct contact person listed there in the event that you need additional support or accommodations to pick up your work. Work left after the stated deadline is assumed abandoned and may be used or disposed of by the gallery.

  • Due to limited archive space, the Macy Art Gallery currently does not accept gifts. Only works selected for the Myers Prize are added to the permanent collection.

  • The Macy Art Gallery does loan artwork from the archive exclusively within the TC community and campus. 

  • You can find the complete calendar for the year here. Additionally, the main page of this website, as well as our Instagram account, regularly features updates on current and upcoming exhibitions.

  • The Macy Art Gallery publishes one exhibition catalog and that is for the annual Myers Prize.

  • If you want to make any substantive changes to your original proposal, you must reach out to the gallery immediately to request a review of the new proposal. The gallery reserves the right to decline the request and cancel your show.
